New York, NY (April 11, 2016) – Rangers fans will be super-served NHL Playoff content as the team embarks on their road to the Stanley Cup. MSG Networks (NYSE: MSGN) will offer a full line up of playoff programming kicking off Tuesday, April 12 with “Rangers Playoff Practice Live” and “Geico Rangers Quest for the Cup.”
Game 1 of the Rangers-Penguins series starts Wednesday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. with the “Visa Rangers Game Night” pregame show. The Game 1 puck drops on MSG at 8:00 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the one-hour “Mercedes-Benz Postgame Show.” A full game schedule is below.
MSG Network will also have exclusive local coverage of Games 3 and 4, while NBC will carry the national broadcast of Game 2 on Saturday, April 16 at 3:00 p.m. MSG will have one-hour postgame shows after every Rangers game in the playoffs, including after national broadcast games.
MSG Network Rangers playoff coverage will feature play-by-play announcer Sam Rosen with analyst Joe Micheletti calling the game action and John Giannone as reporter. The studio crew for pregame and postgame coverage will include former Rangers Ron Duguay and Steve Valiquette along with host Al Trautwig.
On Tuesday, April 12, fans will get the first look at the Rangers on ice in advance of the playoffs from noon-1:00 p.m. on MSG with “Rangers Playoff Practice Live” from the training center. All of MSG’s Rangers talent will participate in this behind-the-scenes look at the team preparing for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In advance of Wednesday’s game, MSG Networks kicks-off the team’s playoff campaign with “Geico Rangers Quest for the Cup” on Tuesday, April 12 at 10:30 p.m. on MSG. The one-hour special will have the latest news surrounding the Rangers and the Penguins and will feature interviews and in-depth analysis from our broadcast team. Al Trautwig hosts alongside analysts Steve Valiquette and Ron Duguay.
