New York, NY (February 9, 2016) – The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced today that MSG Network earned 69 New York Emmy Award nominations, more than any other New York television network or station for the ninth consecutive year. MSG Networks, which consists of MSG, MSG+, MSG GO, and MSGNetworks.com, totaled 83 nominations.

The New York Emmy Awards recognize excellence in programming across television and other advanced media platforms. To be nominated for the 2016 Awards, programs had to be produced for telecast in New York State and northern New Jersey, and had to air between September 1, 2014 and August 31, 2015.

“We are honored that MSG Network has earned more New York Emmy nominations than any other local network for the ninth year in a row,” said Andrea Greenberg, president and chief executive officer, MSG Networks. “We are committed to bringing our fans exceptional programming with the highest production values and it is great to be recognized for our live games and original sports and entertainment content with 83 nominations for the company. I applaud our passionate and tireless staff on this tremendous achievement.”

MSG Networks’ New York Emmy nominations covered 40 different categories, ranging from sports and entertainment programming, to on-camera talent, interactive digital content, directing, editing and writing.

MSG Networks’ original programs garnered nominations in a variety of categories including: 13 nominations for The Garden’s Defining Moments, five nominations for Four Courses with JB Smoove, and four nominations each for The Mask with Henrik Lundqvist, Billy Joel: Home at The Garden and The Game 365.

In the On-Camera Talent categories, MSG Networks collected seven nominations. Mike Breen, Steve Cangialosi, Joe Micheletti, Al Trautwig, Steve Valiquette and comedian and actor JB Smoove, host of Four Courses with JB Smoove, and Godfrey Danchimah (MSG Countdown) all received nominations.

MSG GO, the live streaming and video on demand platform, which launched December 2014 earned a nomination in the Technical Achievement category.

Award winners will be announced on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the 59th annual New York Emmy Awards ceremony to be held at The Marriott Marquis in Times Square. A full list of nominations for MSG, MSG+, MSG GO and MSGNetworks.com are included below.
