New York, NY (April 8, 2018) – With the New York Islanders set to start their quest for the Stanley Cup, MSG Networks today announced its telecast schedule for the team’s first round matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Game 1 of the opening round series will be telecast on MSG+, with Games 2, 4, and if necessary 5 and 7, airing on both MSG Network and MSG+. MSG Networks will also have exclusive pregame and postgame coverage for each game it airs throughout the series, as well as a postgame show following Game 3 on NBC.

Coverage of Game 1 at Nassau Coliseum between the Islanders and Penguins will get underway on MSG+ at 6:30pm on Wednesday, April 10th with the “Ford Islanders Tailgate Live” show. Hosted by Shannon Hogan, the 30-minute, tailgate special will air leading into the network’s official pregame show before each home game at Nassau Coliseum during the series. The show will include interviews with notable Islanders alumni, as well as feature UFC star and Long Island-native Chris Weidman interacting with fans, capturing the excitement and playoff atmosphere both inside and outside the arena.

Hogan will then host the “Verizon Fios Islanders Pregame” show at 7:00pm, alongside analyst Jennifer Botterill in the studio. Play-by-play announcer Brendan Burke and analyst and four-time Stanley Cup Champion Butch Goring will be on the call for Game 1 when the puck drops at 7:30pm. The “Mercedes-Benz Islanders Postgame” show with Hogan and Botterill will air immediately following the game each night. Analyst AJ Mleczko will also contribute to the network’s coverage for select games during the series.

To celebrate the team’s playoff run, original Islanders-focused programming will be featured in “MSG Shorts” after each game, which will tap into the fan culture and put a spotlight on Islanders players and coaches on and off the ice. MSG Networks will also re-air some of the best Islanders games from the regular season throughout the week.

MSG Networks’ full Islanders first round playoff schedule can be seen below. All Islanders postseason coverage on MSG Networks will also be available on MSG GO, MSG Networks’ live streaming and video on demand platform for smartphones, tablets and computers.
